As a recently married man that is considering starting a family I have become flooded with some of the typical parenting questions that I’m eventually going to have to ask myself and truthfully… Most current parents ask themselves these questions everyday. Amongst the most common question I ask myself… How do I keep my children safe from stumbling on photos of naked men and women when searching the internet?

The simplest answer to this question is to apply the ‘strict’ settings while doing Internet searches. While this is a pretty simple fix… I’ve found it really isn’t much of a fix at all because there appear to be some ‘loopholes’ within Google’s Strict Image Search settings that still allow images that contain nudity or images of a pornographic nature to remain viewable despite the fact that the ‘strict’ setting should block them.

While doing a search for ‘penis’ there was only a few real-life photos of a man’s penis that slipped through the cracks. While doing a search for ‘vagina’ the majority of the photos were clean but there are a ton of medical type photos that clearly show the vagina (no more graphic than common sex education photos though). While searching for ‘intercourse’ I discovered the same; there were regular sex education type photos displaying what intercourse involves but there were no pornographic images displayed.
